Nonprofit To Run For Peace, Charity At Rockland Lake

VALLEY COTTAGE, N.Y. -- A nonprofit organization that promotes peace, works to build community, encourages conflict resolution and aids victims of hate and violence is hosting a 5K race on Saturday, June 18.

The inaugural Races for Peace 5K Run/Walk, a fundraiser for the group, is scheduled to open the parking lot at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Rockland Lake State Park (north entrance), 299 Rockland Lake Road. The actual race is set to begin at 10 a.m.

The nonprofit is still looking for volunteers and sponsors and is open to runners still looking to register at a cost of $25.
